Sorry for being absent folks, but we had their 2 week photo shoot yesterday and my goodness they're twice the size they started at! Will make a post sometime today for y'all. My dad built me a lid for the brooder so that they stopped jumping right out of it. I heard a soft "clang" this morning when Chickie hit her head, as she's still getting used to the lid and jumping just a little too high to dominate her sisters (I was wrong, Chickie is definitely head hen), but I'm sure they'll figure it out. Every time I put my hand in now, all the chicks race to it. Treats really work! I need to start getting them used to me touching their back so may offer a meal worm or two when I pet their backs. Anyway, they're all getting huge and more and more different every day. They've gotten so playful though I've taken to sleeping in the basement instead. Every night I leave out their baby cake and their lincoln log + zip tie roost and bury a mealworm or two in their grit, and yet they still decide to play with each other instead. I suppose the found mealworm initiates a noisy food run, but... gah, oh well. They've taken over my room. I give up. Pictures to come.
