Tomtommom: you are making me drool. We once had a peach tree. The few peaches that we got were out of this world good.

The weather has been crazy here. Severe thunderstorms every day, but then completely dry and pretty. We must've had a foot of rain since Saturday![]()
The run is one big muddy mess. Poor birds. The garden is loving it.. although the plants look a little disheveled from the utter force of the rain when it comes down. Lots of small branches down all over too. So far my peaches are still attached to the tree, a small miracle, considering the pecan trees across the street have dropped small ones all over my yard.
My step-son is home again. Apparently he put up a fight when his dad went to get him.... Hurt his feelings badly. But like I tell him: If you're a kid, which house would you pick? The one where there are no rules, you can watch TV and play video games all day, go to bed when you want, eat junk food all day. Or would you pick the one with rules, chores, TV/game limits, a bed time, wholesome meals with veggies? He's 6, he's going to pick option number one. He seems glad enough to be home once he gets here, it's just hard at the time.
The baby has been screaming all night.. so ofcourse now she's been passed out, only woke up twice for a feedingDon't bother to try and wake her, not happening, we've tried. Poor daddy got two hours of sleep without her crying. But.. it'll pass before we know it, so I try and stay positive. It's easier for me ofcourse, I don't have to go to work.
We had our first peach this morning from our tree. HEAVEN!Is there anything more delightful than a juicy piece of fruit out of your own yard? Zero pesticides, just gotta cut around the bug holes

Oh, I wrote that letter to my dad. Kept it friendly and cheery, saying I just want to remember the good times and move on. I have yet to mail it, the weather has been unpredictable. Gotta go to town tomorrow, so that's when I'll do it.
***Okay, don't kick me off the porch but here's an update on the funky eggs I thought my broody laid. There is a possibility that those eggs were moved from a nest across the pen. Now how they might have done that I don't know, but some eggs from that nest are missing too. They are similar enough to the eggs that the hen lays that I could have been dead wrong ...it is possible. So what goes on in a chicken coop when I'm not looking, I probably don't want to know! But just wanted you guy to know that those eggs could have come from a nest that another hen was sitting on.
That's what I would guess. My hens have carted both eggs and chicks in their wings. Not necessarily when walking that I've noticed. But certainly when I'm trying to move a bird off a nest ...
I would love (or as Bee says, 'lerve') to have everyone over. I have 7 acres ya'll could camp on. There is just one thing.......I DON'T have a front porch.![]()
