Yes I've made some batches that were too soft and sticky - didn't set right. But we gobble them up fast anyway.

Well, I just made a wooden poop board to put under a roost. It challenged my carpentry skills! Not pretty, but workable. I want to keep the entry to the favorite nest box cleaner. They are not messing in the box, but are dragging the mess into it. Unfortunately, the nest box is at the same level as the raised floor. I have a reach-in perch and nest boxes. There is also lower coop floor, on the ground ( no sub-floor).

@DufferChick... I have a lot of work to do on my coops but it's gonna have to wait until spring. But today I went out as wrapped up as usual for the cold and I had to shed some wrapping I got so hot. That's a good sign! lol

Well today was chilly but at least the sun was out. Gave me a good opportunity to get some cleaning done around the coop, add clean shavings to the DL and put fresh hay in the nest boxes. Also dumped some of last Falls leaves in their run area and they went nuts scratching and flinging those leaves around ! Spring is coming folks, I can feel the warmth of the sun when it's shining, even though we are only February !

I like the cat out with the hens also. Do the chickens chase the cat at all?

No they don't chase her, and she doesn't bother them! The puppy on the other hand is a different story! He won't leave the cat alone, and tends to want to herd the chickens!
I have 14 bags of leaves left for bedding.... I hope that lasts the rest of the winter!

I spent the day taking the puppy to the vet, dropping off some eggs at my uncle-in-laws, and dropping some kids clothes off for a cousin-in-law. Very beautiful day! We use the vet in our home town even though it is about 30-45 minutes away, and up the mountain. I took some pictures out of the car window...

I love the scenery!! I could never get a picture of my cats with my chickens because my chickens delight in chasing them across the yard til the cats take refuge on the fence

Sydney is referred to as "special kitty"..... She isn't the brightest in the world, and won't even run from the puppy most of the time.

Watching the Olympics. I just love watching kids doing their dream!! I'm so thankful I didn't have kids who felt the need to fly without wings.
