First cold season with four lovely chickens. They have tons of cool runs and chunnels to use all day and today is 42 degrees and they came out and went into the covered run. I thought chickens didn’t mind colder temps? I wonder if the wind is bothering them.

It’s very windy! I also spotted a fox so I am thinking maybe this is why they didn’t come out too.

Mine waited for the wind to calm down a bit before venturing out. I don't think they like their feathers blowing the wrong way out - particularly when they are molting.

Mine don’t mind the cold, but they don’t like the wind. They stay in the covered run that I cover with plastic sheeting during the winter. I’m looking to build chunnels to get a covered area to their runs so they have more space. The snow can get thick here, and they hate the snow.
