Section. 7.

Clause 1: All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

The 16th amendment to the constitution made the income tax making it part of the constitution. So what would the court rule on, if the constitution is constitutional ?

Subsequently, the U.S. Supreme Court in 1916 upheld the progressive income tax as constitutional in Brushaber v. Union Pacific Railroad Company, 240 U.S. 1 (1916). The Supreme Court indicated that the amendment did not expand the federal government's existing power to tax income (meaning profit or gain from any source) but rather removed the possibility of classifying an income tax as a direct tax on the basis of the source of the income. The Amendment removed the need for the income tax to be apportioned among the states on the basis of population. Income taxes are required, however, to abide by the law of geographical uniformity

The part that is still unknown and has never been determined is what is income.

I'm either writing in Ron Paul or voting Libertarian Gary Johnson. I know that probably helps our current president and I am okay with that. I don't like the Republican establishment, but I do like President Obama. He is nice, cares about the poor and vulnerable. Ask most any Ron Paul supporter about gop establishment ethics and you will understand my sentiment. Some may just accept the "shenanigans" but not me. I don't have any serious anger issues with the democrats - only ideological disagreements, so if the republicans want party over principle, then I'm happier helping the dems. My major grievances with the dems are the idiotic FDA/DEA raids on pot and raw milk farms. Big government Republicans sure aren't planning to end the drug war and the only farming industries they really care to help are big corporate factory farming industries, so why would I choose them?

My life has improved under this administration. I have just begun year four in my business, and am close to finishing my degree online. I still own my house, raise chickens, and have a beautiful garden. Two of my children are doing great in public school, and my oldest is home schooled preparing for an early start at community college. Please don't imply I don't work or contribute to the system. I have paid a lot of taxes too

If what you mention are the most important issues to you then I cannot argue against those reasons for voting. I have yet to see the difference in shenanigans relating to party affiliates.

One thing I always wonder about, why is Paul in the GOP ?
