That hasn't been my experience. Most of my clients are very happy when they finally reach the age of 65 and can join the Medicare program.I wouldn't say happily. I would say out of necessity it was embraced, and I will add I've seen many elderly people pass up medical treatment (and die) so they could eat.
People have trouble paying for the outrageous costs of medication (without part D) but 80%/20% coinsurance is very good insurance at a fantastic rate, about a tenth of the private market cost.
