LOL Yeah that's what his wife tells him too with a smirky smile while all the time wanting to REALLY say; you're using up more and more my horse pasture too so on and so forth LOL J/K Chris I couldn't resist it man! I like those coops too when you get bored come on over and build some here as I've about gotten my old original coop 'bout broke in and need some more to start wearing the new off of. have a sawmill right down the road too LOL
Your saying that and boy if you only knew how true that is!!!!!! We were in the car yesterday headed to my In-Laws and we were talking small talk...nothing about nothing and so I asked her
"How would you feel if I moved the horses around a bit and put this one in this stall and this over there and so on..... She looked at me and said why do you want to do that? My reply, so I could use one of the foaling stalls (12 x 24) to grow my chicks out in this spring" Good thing I was driving!

Jeff, I love that pic of your coop! I remember you had posted it a while back. Isn't it real old and been through a few hurricanes?

Merry Christmas Fred and everyone else. I hope you all have a great day. Fred I have a few eggs in lock-down also, I'm on day 20 today....no peeps yet!

Chris

Christmas morning, chicks hatching. Good cup of Starbuck's Christmas blend coffee, quiet house, wood stove glowing. Great Christmas morning.

Set eggs back on the 5th and 6th. Grandkids coming in tomorrow. Looks like some of the chick's aren't going to wait. Oh well, papa's enjoying them anyhow. Merry Christmas everyone.

Fun :) That blend is about the best Starbucks sells, IMO. Great stuff.

Merry Christmas to you too, Chris and to the rest of the followers here and the rest of BYCers too.

Yeah Chris my old coop is just about to get settled in after about 30+ years of service I just keep propping this and that here and there all the nails are about rusted into. I try to find some meat for screws to hit but not too much left to grab onto,LOL

I guess the reason its so hurricane proof is its got flow(volumetric efficiency in hot rod lingo) LOL I had built that thing when I was a teenage boy in the early eighties from material of 25-30 year old broiler house that a tornado leveled so the wood was old then its so old the termites won't even eat it, never had a drop of paint on it either LOL

Its a keepsake and something for the neighbors(cousins) to enjoy as it clashes so nicely with their nicely painted-up outbuildings in the background. The ol coop has outlived many of their privacy fencing efforts to cammo-out its stunning view from their back-porch. I think I'll leave it there for many, many more years to come just for a conversation piece, and its time tested awesomeness, LOL

Jeff

Oh yeah I had just gathered my little joking statement up from little hints in your post from here, there, and yonder. LOL

Hmmm. Yesterday, I was out in my horse barn and looking at stalls and thinking what I could do with them, chicken wise.

It's easy! I wired in the feed door opening and the window and built some simple 3' panels to use as dividers. I did this last year in one of the 12 x 12 stalls and it worked great. I kept the birds in here long enough to grow them out and see who my keepers would be and culled the rest,

Chris
