Quote: My reasons to know is how many eggs to order. If I have all males I need more eggs. I would rather have them in the same grow out pen and raised together. With my set up I have only one coop for a grow out pen. Having chicks three months apart in a grow out pen in my opinion is not a good idea. I would rather not have to change my set up.

Penny and Vicki,
You can e-mail me pictures to j-hacsfarms(at)hotmail.com and I'll give it a shot.

Jim..

How are you at sexing your own chicks at three weeks?
Hi,
Honestly I don't even think about trying to get true guess at 3 weeks. I know what you are saying about having to many different age chicks to grow out. It can be a pain. The only time that I had put different ages together were when I hatched out some of my own and they were only 2 days different in age. I am very careful about putting chicks together that are different ages. They seem to fuss as much as older birds. Like Bob just said, I just watch mine and usually at 5 to 8 weeks I can almost tell all of them. This is a real venture, keep the Tylanol bottle handy. lol
