The Heritage Rhode Island Red Site

Hi Everyone, I am new to BYC. I am happy to have found this group & happy to have found a forum on Mohawk Rhode Island Reds. I hope someone will be able to tell me where to buy more of this breed. I have 2 pullets & 3 roosters. They are now 3 1/2 months old. I know I will have to have more pullets or hens pretty soon as I have too many roosters right now. They are beautiful birds. My husband & I came across this line by accident. We had never heard of them before we bought our 5. My husband wanted Rhode Island Reds & we found a local breeder who happened to have the Mohawk line. We bought the last five chicks the breeder had. He no longer has this line so we are searching for a new source.

Where do you live? I'm in Tucson, Arizona. Got my first Mohawk (aka Reese line) RIRs just 3 years ago. Beautiful, calm birds. I started over with new pullets from some of my original birds this year and will hopefully be able to ship chicks when they start laying well enough. They are April hatched so I have a couple more months to wait.

I am in Mississippi. Please do keep me in mind for when you have eggs or chicks to sell. We love these birds & definitely want to increase our small flock. Thank you so much.

Did you get your birds from Kenny Wayne?
