The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

A scream pierced the air. Sharp and piercing echoing deep within the darkness of the wood. Blair shuddered, her gaze flickering around the path anxiously.
Kit had left her side, presumably to be beside Take. Blair wanted so desperately to follow the collie and be beside him, but she had already taken her spot in the front, just beside Rylie and Kyle. She wanted to call for her niece, a fresh wave of anxiety crashing over her when she thought of what may have happened to the young girl.
But there was something following them. It was hungry. No, starving. It was waiting for the moment she would turn her back, unaware. She was sure of it. But she couldn't let the fear get to her, unlike the others. The thick, heavy scent of fear clung in the air, hovering like a growing storm cloud.
Then she paused. The wolf instantly when ballistic, nearly snatching Blair's control when it scented a earthy, cat-like scent. She paused beside Rylie, watching the tabby.
"What's going on?" Suddenly, a pale face appeared beside her, illuminated by flames. Blair jumped, a shap yelp piercing the air, lingering and echoing. The ginger gave her a weird look, drawing a handful of flame closer to her face. "Chill. What's wrong?"
"Rylies talking to something. Another cat. Bigger, though. Much bigger. Has a human with it." Blair swallowed thickly, pushing the girl out of her personal space, wary and on edge.
"Talking?"
"Stop raising your voice. Yes, talking. Animals can talk." Her golden gaze flickering to the forest, trying to scent the human with the cat, though it was nearly overwhelmed her with the scents of the forest, the group and the creature nearby. "Show yourself," she growled, fingers flexing, feeling the wolf crawling into control. "We mean no harm as long as you don't harm us."

Has to happen at some point... Carson thought, preparing to push through the undergrowth and reveal himself and Buck. "Come along, but no growling. We don't want to scare or harm anyone in any way, alright?" He quickly ordered his big cat before showing himself. He eyed the group warily, realizing there were a lot more people than he originally thought there would be. Buck stood beside him, gazing curiously at Rylie. "Uh... Hi." Carson said hesitantly. "Where are we?"

Lilith looked up at him, interested in what he had to say. "That's amazing, I've... Never heard of anything like that." She murmured, brows knitting together. "What does 'babushka' mean? Something like mother, right?" She asked, stepping carefully over a large root sticking out from the ground. "I was told I got my powers from my grandfather, but I never met him, he was a cop who died in action. And there was other powered teenagers at my school when I went, but... I never was able to know them."

Kevin nodded proudly. “Yes, she’s an incredible woman,” he said. “Eh, sorta. It means grandmother.”
He watched her as she spoke, feeling a pang of sympathy. It must’ve been hard growing without knowing or being friends with other gifted people. He was thankful he grew up around very understanding people.
“I’m sorry, that must’ve been difficult.” He said softly.

Aria continued to teleport from place to place in search of the children. She drifted further and further away from the group. “Oh dear. I’m lost” she said looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings. Crap. Where were the group?
She paled as a scream echoed through the trees. She shivered, Kylan’s words echoed in her head ‘we don’t know what’s our there’. Aria’s eyes flicked around tracing the dark forest surrounding her. She heard something move in the trees behind her. She whirled. Her eyes widening

Blair eyed him warily, noticing the dagger in his hand. "Put the knife away, please." She murmured, still eyeing it. He seemed harmless enough, but it made her uneasy. "We aren't sure where we are. How did you get here?"

He glanced down at the dagger in his hand and blinked at it in surprise. He hadn't realized he had drawn it out. Reluctantly, he put it back into his belt. "I'm not sure." He admitted. "One moment Buck and I were going for a walk and the next we were in a strange forest."

"Sounds like it. Ah." Lilith nodded, happy to have learned something new. "It..." She paused, unsure of what to say. It wasn't their fault. Was what she almost said, but that would undoubtedly stir up some questions from him about why she hadn't befriended them, and that didn't exactly ring out to her as an interesting conversation at the moment.
Instead, she shrugged uncaringly, but she knew he must've noticed her sudden silence. "It was fine, probably better." She murmured, deciding to change the subject. "What is it like, over there? Where you're from." She asked, not noticing that someone new had joined the crowd, for all she knew, he was an original.

The wild sounds of the forest rang in Take’s ears. Sounds such as croaks, hissing, bleats, and clicking from the bestial and cryptic entities that lived in the dark woodland. Since Take had night vision, he could make out what these entities looked like, and they appeared nothing like normal animals. Though they moved quick and never stayed in one spot for long as they followed the group, tilting heads, flashing beady and huge eyes. They’re stalking us...
Take felt slightly threatened by them, but he was ready to deal with them if they tried something.
He suddenly sensed a buzzing in his pocket, it was his phone.
He pulled it out, eyeing the alarm that was going off, reminding him he has work in an hour.
Yeah I’m definitely not going to make it today... I doubt my manager would understand, and think I was making up some wild story..
He slid it off with his thumb and put it back in his pocket, taking an exhaled breath. This is a drag.

"Is that a cougar?" Maya asked, trying not to sound scared.
After a few moments of silence, she spun around.
Charlie was gone.
"Charlie?" She called, her voice wavering a bit.
Maya froze and yelped when two hands fell upon her shoulders. She shook herself out of their grasp and whipped around, just to come face-to-face to a laughing Charlie. "You jerk!" She tried to punch his shoulder but he evaded her, still laughing. "You looked so scared," he grinned. Maya glared daggers at him, but she couldn't hide the smile that crept onto her face. Charlie looked over to the front of the group to make sure they weren't being left behind. He frowned.
"Where'd that cougar come from?"
