The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

"Uhh, sure." He hadn't really thought about what kind of effort she'd been putting in to communicate with them. But he also didn't really know where to begin. He spotted Chion trying to leave, and picked Noah up to carry the sleeping boy back with them. "Can you carry Emma?" He asked nodding toward her.
“Of course.” She picked up little Emma and held her close. “Let’s go to the cave.”

"I just need to find...they were going this way..." Blair murmured, mostly to herself, pacing the area as if she were going to miraculously find their scents. She paused, listening as far as she could. And she heard it, voices on the wind, no matter how faint. "...sure...okay?" "...follow?"
"This way," she glanced at Take, before pushing her way through the undergrowth, following the faint words.
Take peered back at her, “You got something?” he asked as she disappeared through the undergrowth, compelled to follow after her. Had he taken the time to slow down and listen as she did, he could’ve picked up the voices of the children as well.
The others might not have been able to pick up the sound of Blair and Take pushing though the large ferny leaves, but Chion heard them as they approached. Turning to look toward them with her ear held up over her head.

"I can hear them." Blair answered quickly, shoving her way through the undergrowth with uncharacteristic clumsiness. She could smell them now, Kipp and Emma and the others. Thorns whipped at her, tearing through her mud soaked clothing and creating fresh wounds, even though she barely felt them.
That's when she staggered free of the undergrowth, her gaze falling on the small group, instantly her gaze going to Emma, who was wrenching herself free of Ashira's grasp. Blair grabbed the blonde haired girl when she came towards her, lifting her and wrapping her arms around her tightly. "You're okay...thank God, you're okay..." She breathed, not putting the girl down.
"I knew you'd find me, Aunt Blair." Emma whispered, clinging to her.

Kipp flinched at Blair's sudden appearance, biting down hard on his lip, as he imagined the pain Emma would be feeling. Having Blair hug her that tightly over where they had whipped her.

Ashira understood his wince. She got to her feet. “We should probably all get back to the cave.”

While Blair went head on with the thorns, Take only received a few minor scrapes from being behind her. As the children came into view, he felt a wave of relief come over him. Emma and Blair were finally able to reunite after four or so days. A smile lifted in the corners of his lips as he watched them shortly. He went over to Kipp and bent down to his height. “Hey” he whispered, giving short glances at Chion, “What is that thing?” he finally asked now that they weren’t trying to escape for their lives.

Kipp nodded at Take in greeting looking at him around Noah who had flopped his head onto his shoulder and wrapped one arm around his neck. He followed Take's distracted gaze, to Chion who, now that the others had joined them, was impatiently walking away up the sandy riverside.
"Uhh, I don't know what the critters are called. That's Chion, the blond girl with pointy ears." He answered, with a smile spreading across his face. "Or did you not meet her?" Kipp grunted hoisting Noah up a bit higher as his hands started to slip. Then began taking heavy steps to follow the others.
"She's a mimic. She changes forms kind of like Hadd-" Kipp fell silent, reminded that not everyone was accounted for. If she hadn't made it back to the rest of the group Take would probably know. But Kipp didn't want to know if something bad had happened to her.

"Aunt Blair—"
"Blood." Blair panicked at the scent of it, unable to stop herself from speaking so abruptly. She set Emma down, seeing the pained look on her face and then noticing the blood on her own hands. Blair turned Emma, despite the little girls protests, her gaze falling on the long, weeping lashes on the girls back, her sweater torn. She bit the inside of her cheek to stop herself from speaking, instantly closing herself off. She didn't want to scare Emma. She picked her up carefully, balancing her on her hip. "I'm gonna fix it up, okay?" She murmured. Emma just nodded, burying her face against Blair's neck.
It's not infected. Yet. But what could've done that? Not claws, too neat and straight...

“Whips,” Ashira whispered in answer to her thoughts. “We were whipped. All of us. But I thought everyone’s bleeding had stopped-“
