The Hidden Door-A Role Play (AKA The Most Dangerous Coffee Shop II)

Kylan had to choke down a cackle at the fact that she hadn't disagreed to his idea of slapping their personal healer and samurai-chick.
Torin laughed, sticking out his hand so he could shake her hand all proper like his parents did with people. "Yep! I know, Kylan told me a lot about you." He giggled, smiling. "I like your name. It's cool. Ar-ee-aa. Nice."

She could feel his disappointment radiate off her, her powers tingling. She raised her hands as she strode beside him, lighting them up to a blue to guide her way. She smiled, knowing that a few months ago if she'd seen that light, she'd have seen just proof of her being a murderer.
"I live in Nashville, so I guess I'm pretty used to it. Not that I don't still hate it, though." Lilith said, shrugging. "Mine's April 28th, so I'm not sure. Maybe we will have to, I'm sure me and Kylan aren't the only ones." She said, committing his birth-month to memory. "Hold on."
She whipped her phone back out, flicking it on and checking the date. "It's... Man, it's April 19th already."
She glanced at him, feeling his anxiety. "I know this sounds stupid, but... Whatever it is, don't worry. I've never been to Missouri before, but there's probably plenty of Russians walking around with chickens... Yeah."
“Why thank you. This is interesting isn’t it? We are at a garage being told off” Aria whispered in Torins ear
“Haven’t you seen the news? The Coronavirus epidemic! The reason you don’t have school! Now go back to your parents and stop acting stupid!” a policewoman put in. She was running out of patience. These kids were acting stupid and wasting her time.

“I agree... are we sure this is Missouri?” Cam whispered back. “Kevin? Are you sure this isn’t your home?” Last time I checked they don’t have curfews in Missouri, but maybe I’m wrong.
“Wait. Coronavirus?”
Cam asked incredulously. “You mean the one from China? And we’re now being quarantined from it?” It took her a while to remember the jokes that were made at school about the Chinese virus. She had had other things to worry about. “It’s that deadly?”
”What’s a coronavirus?” Aria asked confused

Kipp stopped in his tracks frowning in confusion at the police.

"Curfew? Did world war three actually start while we were away? That was just a joke wasn't it?" He whispered loudly to Kylan. Not that he'd have any clue either.
Kylan slowly shook his head, confusion clouding his face. "I have no idea, man." He glanced up at Torin. "Stay quiet, Tor." He whispered. I hope Mom's okay, and Dad.
Kevin snorted. “Yeah, maybe. But most of them probably have IDs” he said.

Kevin opened his mouth, but paused, not quite sure what to say to that.

As the cops arrived, Kevin froze. He had no idea what they meant by ‘curfew.’ Last time he checked, America didn’t have a curfew. “Sorry, sir. We’ll be on our way,” Kevin said quietly, gesturing for them to go back to the storage compartment.

Lilith stepped in front of Kevin, almost as though she was trying to get him to let her deal with it, or she was trying to hide him from the cops. Probably both. "I-- Corona?" Her breath hitched, knowing all too well what it was now. She'd kept herself up all night when it first came out about it watching the news, making a simple joke to herself that America was next. Why do I always have to be right?
It started to click in her mind, a couple people from China brought it over to the US, gotten a couple people sick, and now there was "social distancing" and curfew. "We understand, Miss. My apologies. We'll be heading back to my house now, sorry." She stepped back, giving Kevin and slightly horrified look. "Let's go, c'mon." She whispered, starting to turn around.

Aella stood to the side of the portal, watching it swirl and suck people into it's abyss. People that didn't nessicarily like her, but people she had fought beside and trained with and talked to for the past three months. People she'd miss.
If someone asked her three months ago, she'd be very willing to go back to familiar old New York. Now, she never wanted to leave. Sure, it was dangerous. Manticores, dragons, direwolves, flighty elven tribes and countless other dangers lurking about.
But that was the beauty in it. A dangerously beautiful planet, where the human, or mostly human, inhabitants were far kinder then those back home.
She even fit right in with the people. She was no longer frail and thin; constant, healthy meals left her stronger, healthier and far more filled out. Her once unhealthily pale skin was now a light tan, her face and arms scattered with freckles.
And she may or may not have adorned her wrists with several jeweled bracelets that she came across in the dragons den, and various small weapons hung from the side of her belt, a bow no longer slung over her shoulder, as she left it back in the village. Though the red and white feathered end of one was tucked into the braided updo of her hair.
She watched with a solemn expression as one by one people vanished into the spinning vortex, waving a slight farewell to each of them. At Ciro's approach, she looked over at him, smiling slightly. They'd had each other's back throughout their journey, and he'd became a closer friend then she'd had in a very long time, and he was another thing she'd miss greatly.
"I don't know if I'll ever be ready to leave this place." She beckoned to their surroundings. "But simple New York seems kind of nice right now."
A sudden, unforeseeable panic seized Ciro from out of nowhere. This couldn't be it. He couldn't let any of them go, and definitely not her.
Yet it was down to just the two of them.
No. No. No, there was so much more...
He whirled around to confront the questionable operator of the vortex, jarring Taquikkar enough that she too turned toward to address the source of his anxiety with a definite growl. Kyle completely and entirely had his respect, but this Laurel character was another matter entirely. Someone who just phased back and forth, whenever it was convenient, just didn't sit well with him.
"Where---" He took a deep breath that rattled in his constricting throat. He'd really worked on his composure under stress these past months and he wasn't going to throw all his progress away the moment he stepped foot back on Earth, let alone before he even got there. "Where does that thing go, exactly? We all came by separate ones, did we not?"

Kevin nodded. “I assure you, this is not where I live,” he told Cam quietly.
Coronavirus? COVID-19? He thought. He hadn’t heard anything about this new strain, but wondered if it was like the other versions. Kevin glanced at Lilith, following her lead of taking a few steps back. He silently prayed it was going to be as simple as that,

“Yes,” the lady cop nodded.
Cam was dazed and confused for a moment, then decided to follow Lilith’s lead. She was smart, and more than once her quick thinking had gotten them out of sticky situations. She grabbed Noah’s had and turned around, mumbling apologies to the cops. This is Earth. We don’t openly question our authorities here.
She dragged the little boy back into the stuffy storage unit.

Blair gave a soft oh at his words, remembering that his was still stashed beneath her bed back home. "I'll remember that. I'll give you yours when I see you." She pulled away slowly, giving him a kiss, cupping the side of his face with one hand. "Be careful. Don't do anything stupid without me, okay?" She said when she pulled away, giving him a slight smile.
Kit sat at Blair's feet, tilting her head. Was Take not coming with them?
Take nodded then gave her a lopsided grin, a sly look in his eyes. He was totally going to do the exact opposite of what she was telling him. It was certain that he would get into trouble and do something stupid anyways, it was in his nature. “I’ll try not to” he said frivolously before looking down at Kit, her chocolate brown eyes gazing up at him, expressing confusion and wonder in why they weren’t already leaving. Take got on one knee, smiling warmly at the collie, “You gotta take care of Blair for me, okay Kit? I’ll bring treats for you the next time I see you” he stroked her head and scratched her favorite spot underneath her collar.

Aria bender down whispering in Torin’s ear “I hope he told you all good things”. She was attempting to lighten the mood a bit,
Kylan had set Torin down, and now the boy looked up at the bent Aria. "There was bad things?" He joked.
He followed Kylan when he began walking behind Lilith, but kept his eyes on Aria.

Lilith sighed in relief as her friends began following her, grateful for their trust.
She stepped inside the odd home, heart rate starting to jump a bit as her stomach felt acidic. "Well, seems I have more questions than are answered." She said gruffly, leaning up against the wall. "I didn't think that Corona would get here this fast."

Aria jogged after Lilith, “gosh if it’s like this here. What’s it like in Sydney”. “Of course not, I was just being humble” she laughed turning her attention back to Torin
