The hunting/fishing thread!

Sounds like a good reason to buy another gun. ;) What caliber do you shoot?

I learned my lesson during the Obama years. That's when I started reloading and building a stockpile. My biggest score was the Nov-Dec before covid hit. Walmart decided to quit selling handgun and "assault" rifle ammunition. They marked it all 30-50% off. I literally went to every Walmart within 40 miles of my house and cleaned them out. Little did I know there would be another ammo shortage from covid in a few more months. Wish I would've went further and hit some more stores.

Merry Christmas, lol....

Considered it but same not sure what supplies are there either and not sure if worth the investment of time, $, and storage space for the amount we use.
Good assessment and probably a good decision. Reloading is more of a hobby in my opinion. You will almost never actually "save" money by reloading unless you shoot a ton. And if you shoot a lot you really need more expensive, progressive presses if you want to crank out a high volume of ammunition. You'll find there are powder and primer shortages too and they usually coincide with ammo shortages.

I reload a couple times of year and I do it more for the gratification of harvesting an animal with a cartridge that I made. Same reason I tie my own flies. It's a neat hobby but it's tedious, time consuming, and definitely not for everyone...

Awesome. I killed my first deer with a handgun two years ago. It was a smith & wesson 6.5" 44 mag revolver. Shot her with a handloaded hornady 240gr XTP bullet. I've always wanted a lever action, just haven't got around to buying one yet...
