Fish without scales can bruise where ice contacts them especially with fish on top of fish

Like fresh shrimp always put them in icy slushy water
Straight ice they will bruise where solid ice touches them. Ever saw shrimp with black spots? They been on ice and bruised

always wanted to go for cat fish. only got really one or two lakes here that got a few of them, got to go over a province to fish for them or head south to the states. for any really good numbers.

We can get them out of the Mississippi and a few tributaries, but they are small and anything large tastes like mud only worse.

I need some help!! Mr Muddy wants to downsize toys this year and get 1 good catfish boat. Looking at different options new and used. I know several of you already have cool fishing boats so please tell me more!! to help me make a decision!!

Jugs and rod and reel.....I’ve never been a big fan of trot lines or limb lines/yo-yos

Jugs, and trot lines are illegal up here.

Whatever you get I would not buy used. Boats can be a pain in the butt when they aren't working right and buying someone else’s problem just invites trouble.
Personally, is stay away from Mercury engines. I've towed more of them back to the launch than I can remember.
Something with a live well would be nice and make sure the storage is long enough to hold your rods, many aren't.
