It seems they take forever to grow, doesn't it?!

Just had to share these early morning pictures of the cuckoo lavender roo. Now remember
he was born in July so he is 2 and 1/2 months old and a crowing machine.

He has to get himself all wound up though cause he is so little

(everyone else is oblivious to his morning ritual)

And when he gets going it is one right after another.......

Can't you just hear that little squeaky crow

Chocolate Orpington new comers. They seem very happy to be here. All of my hens went broody. I have 10 more eggs due to hatch in a few days. This might be it for the year. The first one is 1 1/2 weeks old. The others just hatched. I had to put a divider in the brooder to keep the older chick from harming the others. I'll remove it in a few days. Ain't they pretty?

Morning Jeremy!

Here are some pics of the little girl, can you pick her out..................

I did get her outside for just a minute.....

Probably not the shot you wanted...........

If you plan on ever parting with her Nellie, please let me know.

She looks to not be carrying the Mahogany gene, which would make her Diamond Jubilee. Breeding her to a "regular" colored Jubilee cock bird would produce more "regular" colored Jube babies, but then breeding one of her sons back to her would produce 1/2 Diamond Jubilee offspring and 1/2 "regular" colored Jubes. She's essentially Golden Mille Fleur. Very, very pretty.

Some of my favorite Diamonds are from N&J Orpingtons in the UK... I would LOVE to have some of their birds.

The girls were jealous that I didn't show much of them.

Color wise, I'd say this hen is exceptional. That's some of the best pattern I've seen on any Jubilee! She is gorgeous!

How old is she? By a year she will be stunning.

ETA: I'll take a dozen from her and your big handsome boy!

I have a question......This cockerel is a UK Chocolate. However, he is showing some barring on his feathers. Has anyone else had their chocolates feather like this? Or anyone have an opinion on whats going on? Thanks!

Thanks Jeremy. She is 7 1/2 months old. She is already stunning to me. And so is this rooster that looks more Diamond. Below is one of my younger girls that is 6 months old also.
