The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

You don't want copper leakage, unless you want to start a brown red project or maybe improve on some partridge.
I tend to look at things like that as an opportunity

If pure black, it should not happen don

I guess no one has a response. I'll go ask Jordan Farms then.

Sorry, I meant to answer that last night and got side tracked......happens when you get old.....

I have seen that in the chocolates, along with barring (not on the same bird.....

) I posted a picture on here of a chocolate cockerel that had the orange in the hackles, I guess it is not a desirable trait but it does happen. Something they were crossed with in the past??

They are so new hard to tell what is back there (genetically). I've actually seen it on quite a few chocolates.

Love That Nellie! some times we take for granted the beautiful God given things around us..

We have a tree out back that we call the angel seat.. it just grew in a strange pattern..It looks over all chicken habitats..rev brian bailey our neighbor and freind was from england , missioned all over the world..but LOVED it right here .. our property borders his missionary school and church....he was english citizen but made his home right behind my house and his church.....He was thrilled to see the old english orpington babies..he said it made him homesick...he would walk down and ask to go sit with those new english orps. escaping the constant phone calls up there.. I had a chair out there for him..I know he wrote a lot of religious books and he would be writing in a journal .. told him, you make yourself right at home...we planted some rare apples up there from england, a lamb abby permain apple tree and blue pairmain apple tree..he couldnt wait to have a basket of those rare old apples..you couldnt see them through the fog..there are also a first, northwest trial almond trees , so that should be interesting..

Perfect name for that tree!
