The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Hope y'all had a Merry Christmas!

My English Orps are now 5.5 months old. Where does the time go? They are getting bigger and bigger everyday. They are filling in nicely and are going to be HUGE! I can hardly wait for the first egg!

I snapped a few photos of a couple of my LF chocolates this afternoon. These south Georgia chickens don't know what to do. Its been getting down to a chilly 35 degrees the past few nights. BRRRR!

Hope you like the pictures. I am going to try to take some more before the end of the week.

Very pretty birds!

Do you have any updated pictures of your Silver Laced?

Jeremy, I will try to get some pictures of the silver laced tomorrow. It has been cold and rainy here the last couple days. Not the best picture taking weather.
I will work on it though.

Thanks for the compliments!

Regarding "princess 2 tail feathers" lol. I read in one of those old books that the hens or pullets with feathers on their heads that stick straight up like that are good layers. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Yeah, Nay, or BS?

The feathers sticking up are not on her head. But either way, I have never heard of that. Definitely something for me to look into HAHA!
The other hens do not have any feathers sticking up on them. That is just my favorite hen to take pictures with. She is really friendly and comes up to me. She also stands still for photos.

I hope you are right Sarah ! I have one adorable pullet who has a Mohawk on either side of her comb. I keep telling her she's having a bad hair day.
