Dee.... I haven't been able to up date pictures of Danny do to the weather.... He absolutely doesn't like the snow. Soo he is indoors with me.. :)

He has enough feathering for two birds! I think he's spoiled over there.

He knows Mama spoils her birds.

I knew he was going to a good home. I bet if you give him some girlfriends to chase, he will brave the cold weather.

LOL a chicken in boots... hahahahah have to make them so as the toenails hang out.. hahaha I can just picture that... He would need a sock hat too... I worry about combs freezing.

He is spoiled.

I put the English Buff trio in the nursery about a week ago. Both pullets are laying nicely with Midas at the helm. Soo all the chicks from there will be pure.. Then I turned Don Juan loose in coop with the rest of the American Orps I have. I will remove my older hens once Don's pullets start to lay. :)

I will be setting Danny up with at least 3 very nice black hens come spring in his own area :) for which I will be sending you eggs from there. :)

This season is going to be busy, busy, busy... did I say busy.... lol soo busy

I had a geneticist in France look at my babies. He looked at pictures of each from various specific angles. He was kind enough to tell me what each bird needed in order to meet my goals for next year. Some could benefit from crossing to Black and some crossing to Buff. Vickie has had me in total darkness over a baby she is saving for my outcross to Buff. She says she finally has the perfect coloring for my project. I am sooooo excited.

That is why I was crazy enough to keep three cockerels. One to keep pure GL, one to Buff, and one to Black. It will take some time to see if any of it works, but God willing, I have time.

This is wonderful that your investing so much into the GL. Good luck with it! I have found patience is key with breeding birds. I have much to learn. And about every time I open this thread I learn something new. Thank you to all the veteran breeders that bless us with their wisdom.
