The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Ok here's a question: Would a black with gold hackles and mahogany on top of it's wings be carrying red? I'm guessing yes because of the mahogany brown coloring. But the rest is solid black/yellow gold. Or was. That is a description of the last mutt roo I had, dad to this little black mutt.

Don't worry, not planning on using the mutt in any breeding! Just thinking visually, you know.
way over my head , some people are very good at working that out..

Aveca,
I killed those two roosters. The hens are getting to look better than average but I have a pen of black splits that will give me type without a problem. My lavenders are on silver base mostly infact some have coronation sussex in them to guarantee they carry silver base.
I also added blues to them to make sure they carry silver genes.
Fantastic stuff..I was stopped right in my tracks there at the color you managed on one of the ones you had to cull..that was amazing to be that close with the project..the ones you showed recently had a tidy look plus a lavender hue..Its quite a creative eye you have..I think they are really going to be something..

That's a typical black with red/gold leakage.

I took a few photos this evening before we go to a Valentines Banquet.
These are my blues hatched Nov1 and 14 that I kept from the Black over Splash Breeding. They were huge chicks and they have reall good size for 3 months and less
