The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I dont have very many "good" pictures. I need to upgrade the camera and take a bunch of pictures. Or hire a photographer!

You can always hire me. ;) I would love to spend a whole day taking pictures. I wish my day allowed for that.

Love that top girl...beautiful birds..
Try boiling eggs and squishing them..than offering them the boiled eggs with the shells still on..this time of year they might lack nutrients from lack of sun and bugs in the ground . . Can also add AVC to the water.
Worked for me..cute chicks

I just saw your video, lovely babies! I agree with you about the videos. Seeing the animals' movements give a better perspective.

These are a few of my favorite girls. The sun is finally shining in the Sunshine state and I can't get them out of the shade!

Chelsea is a one year old hen I showed at Central Florida Poultry Breeders Assn Inverness show this past weekend and won Champion English

BB is a huge one year old splash that I am starting to take to shows

Sinnie is a 7mo pullet who is an attention savage

And finally Zelda also 7mo pullet hatchmate to Sinnie, who forgets she's a chicken and thinks she's a piranha (treat hog)
Gotta Love the Big Butts!

WOW, Those are some really nice girls. It's easy to see why they are your favorites. I know they are all beautiful and that pics can only catch one pose. But, that pic of Sinnie is breath taking. So is Zelda, heck all of them.So glad you joined the thread. You belong here.

Edited because I repeated myself. Couldn't help it.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HAVE HIT THE ORPINGTON LOTTERY!!!!!!!! Last year I purchased Imported Orpington eggs from a breeder thats line was cross of Julies and Joys. I have my best blue roo paired with my best black hen to improve laceing on the blues and these 2 r my largest and typiest Orps. I mark the eggs from this cross and keep them seperate as I also have a solid blue pair paired together. This morning I woke up to discover that one of thier jumbo eggs was zipped and watched it hatch and it is a SOLID WHITE CHICK with a white beak and white legs. My first UK imported white Orp.

I know this color has already been imported recently but has anyone else ever had this happen? This seems genetically impossible. No people it is not a splash as I have hatched many of those already from my Blue english pair from the same breeder and they have a light grey cast and dark legs and beaks. I will def post pics of it later today as it is still wet and my luck it will die if I keep opening the bator b4 its fluffed up and dry but it seems very strong and healthy.

Keep a positive outlook. Not all chicken recipes are the same. You may really have something.
