The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Get yourself a battery operated water pistol. Available from Amazon. He will not associate being sprayed with you. He'll just think God got him. This works ! Never run from an agressive Roo. Run AT him ! You're the mother. He's the chicken.

Great idea about the water pistol! Luckily, I have never run from him - even when he tagged me as I was picking up the hen. I just kicked at him as he was backing up. Usually I just stomp really hard into his pen and carry a raquetball raquet and he backs away or turns and runs, but if I crouch down to pour feed or clean out the water, he rushes me and I have to stand and stomp. Is there any hope for him or should I cull now before I get attached or tempted? In other words, is there such a thing as Rooster Rehab?
Got anohter hint for you. Ok What she said is perfectly valid. But NEVER EVER I DON'T FREAKING CARE WHAT show any fear from a rooster. If you do, you're skreeewd. Stand and stomp? OH HELL NO. I stand and chase the bastage and hold his butt down with the face on the ground till I can gradually let go and he doesn't try to pop up or move even one danged feather. If he does, SOUP. No exceptions. I'm no passing off my problems to someone else and I'm not about to feed a chicken till it's old enough to eat then give it to someone else for a meal. Even if I cry my eyes out (and I have!) - that baby is MINE.

Michael, Those Bielefelders are really wanting in. You shouldn't tease them like that.

Hello Michael, unfortunately, there isn't any images to see on utube. It is just a black screen. I wanted to view your babies, specially the, Partridge Orpingtons. Do you have any photos?

These are a few of my favorite girls. The sun is finally shining in the Sunshine state and I can't get them out of the shade!

Chelsea is a one year old hen I showed at Central Florida Poultry Breeders Assn Inverness show this past weekend and won Champion English

BB is a huge one year old splash that I am starting to take to shows

Sinnie is a 7mo pullet who is an attention savage

And finally Zelda also 7mo pullet hatchmate to Sinnie, who forgets she's a chicken and thinks she's a piranha (treat hog)
Gotta Love the Big Butts!
Love that top girl...beautiful birds..
Quote: Try boiling eggs and squishing them..than offering them the boiled eggs with the shells still on..this time of year they might lack nutrients from lack of sun and bugs in the ground . . Can also add AVC to the water.
Quote: Worked for me..cute chicks

I really like the video dynamic to looking at chickens. I think they can be very important to breeders sharing information with each other.
If pictures are worth a thousand words, what are videos worth?
