The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

X 2 on "Mr" splash...thinking it may be "Ms" Splash

Every body looks healthy and happy. Are you sure that the blue girl is with "Mr" splash ? Looks like it might be a pullet. If you can put a bit more depth of keel and fore chest on these BBS birds, you'll really improve them. That's all your splash favorite needs to be a really top bird that fits the US SOP.

LOC..cute birds..thanks for sharing
thanks everyone all of my BBS Orps are at least 75% imported english they were mixed with good type US SOP orps several generations ago I also have full imported english black orps that I think I will breed to my BBS orps to give them a fuller chest...as for Mr. Splash I am also thinking he may be a she I wanted it to be a boy to breed to Ms splash but another splash girl in good too.

thanks, I also have three four week old chicks bred from Buffy and Burp, here's a picture if you can pick them out of the rest of the chicks

these are my orpingtons, I live in Ireland so I don't know if you would consider them imported.

Blackie, a black bantam cockerel

Burp, a large buff cockerel

Buffy, a large buff hen

I also have a bantam black hen but I don't have any pictures of her
Oh, yummy birds ! I love the name, "Burp". I have one named "Hungry".

here some pics I took today of the GFF babies & the BBS babies. It's been raining off & on for a few days so it's nasty in the runs & the babies are a bit nasty too. The GFF chicks are just @ 7 wks now & the BBS chicks are between 2-3 wks.
pics 1&2 are the same boy, he's pretty big

#3,4,5 & 6 are the 3 white, the boys are catching up in size to the girl now

Ok now the last pics, I have a question for those of you way more experienced in Orp colors- the next pics, are these guys partridge? I know I have 1 partridge pullet, but are these partridge cockerels?
