The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I Love the hellen keller quote ..so true..when one door closes , another will open..hopefully Roger will find his happiness..I know that feeling of wanting to go home..lived in colo for a long time ..it just wasn't me thou I liked it there..every day I when living in colo, I would say..Lord, please send over a cloud..I need to see a cloud..350 days a year of sunshine is a good thing but I needed some clouds once in a while....There is a quiet place in NY that I would someday like to retire to..NY will always be home...And I just need a lot of quiet.... Alabama is home for Roger.....funny how its part of your soul isn't it?

Thank you for the compliment..it really goes to Nellie and Sandra..Im just starting with them..I am just terrible at photo..I broke my still frame...Did get some good ones out of that..had to go through it frame by frame..but it worked..Walt taught me that..now Im back to blurr, and who knows what..but its fun to try..some people like John on the orp thread have a knack for it..These birds were fresh from the dirt bath..so they were dirt a pleanty, but its something they have to do..The white ones are very big..I wasn't expecting how big they are and massive up front...I knew they would be but just wasn't expecting quite that much in such a young bird..cant imagine how they will finish ..its something Ive always wanted and they are a pride and joy..I work at home and spend every spare minute with them..need to get those fences moved and strightened next..
Lynn yur birds look great . It is always hard to tell how good they look in a photo. Sometimes they don't look as large. Thanks for sharing them.

Sweet Home Alabama Roger. Every state has its own uniqueness. I love Alabama, love the part I live in and I love to visit other states and countries but always love to come back Home.

Debbie your birds are pretty too. Love your Reds

thanks Julie..i know what you mean..they still look coltish in the pics..but i just cant quite capture the size or width with the camera...the australlrp pullet is one of the biggest female aussies we have ever hatched..and they are starting to dwarf her...i though how yours must be something to see in person..

thanks redreneir

Vickie ..thank you for everything..my husband and freinds are just crazy about those buffs..i get a huge kick out of the different personality quirks that each variety has..the blacks are just comical in general..doctors at the hospital call every year wanting some of those..i almost cant keep a black orp, the drs love them...they would take all of them if i let them.... its a comedy act every time you look in the blk pen....the whites are very in tune with wild bird warning calls..all of the feathers on their head stand straight up like a harpe eagle if they hear any warning call from the woods..they all growl as soon as they hear any sort of warning call.. pretty funny..and you see the buff pen with the comfort birthing center. ..its all day chicken TV for me..husband goes over and watchs bee TV..

i have been having trouble too getting get quality pics of my Orps
i'm thinking about making a 3 sided box that will be white or some other light color inside
then i'll rig up some lighting
after that all i'll need to do is pick up the bird
put it in the "photo box" & take a few pictures
i don't see why it will not work

good luck

Piglett.

Hi. I purchased eggs from you earlier this year. They are 20 weeks now.
Had four hatch ......... all pullets...1 blue, three blacks.
I lost 1 to a coyote.
I will get pic this weekend and post. The Blue is knock out gorgeous........
The blacks are filling out slower.. I am very pleased. They are everything Orp.,follow me around, talk to me when I am sitting outside.
We have a mutual admiration going, I adore them, they adore the grapes I give them
