The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Can anybody give me opinions on her? I think she's my most promising pullet, but I don't know much about Orps. She is a bantam.
She looks pretty nice from what I can see. With the other behind her it's hard to see if she indeed has the full round chest she appears to here. Maybe a better side shot?

Yes I'll go out and take some more here pretty quick. She's still kinda iffy about people so it's hard to get a good picture of her.

Still confused

Alright, this is the only good one I got of her chest. Also, can anyone tell me if the bird in the far right is a cockerel or pullet? He/she has me stumped, as the other cockerels are very obvious.

I believe your seller bred 2 different color English orps to obtain mottled orps and now sells them as pure Englis and, fetching a very pretty price. They had at one time been honest in their listing explaining their mottled were produced with a Jubilee hen and a mottled rooster ( apparently they also used the black orps too).

The lineage is not pure for lack of a better explanation.

I have been reading your sellers posts and auctions for some time now and even saw your eBay purchase of the eggs in question. Of course I can be wrong but the seller really enjoys producing new colors but.. is not always clear that they are projects when they sell ex: Selling a chicken and claiming it is the only of its color in the U.S. not saying its because it is a project.

The seller may have very well purchased an pure adult pair of Mottled because they would have needed to be adults for things to match up as far as when they started the project and when they started selling chicks and eggs claiming them to be pure. Anyway just did not want you to feel coo coo because no one else has opened up about the subject at hand.

I am extremely sorry this has happened to you. I understand the time and resources it takes to raise chickens and to later find out it is not what you paid for. It is disheartening to say the least.

If the seller is reading this it is nothing personal and I humbly apologize if I am incorrect I would love nothing more than to be wrong because I believe you are not a person that would want to take someones money for something they did not ask for, just someone that loves to raise poultry like the rest of us fools.
