Are there many outbreaks in the USA of that?

Avian influenza is always present, but not always much of the HPAI (highly pathogenic avian influenza). This is turning into a bad year. It is spreading very rapidly, and everyone west of the Mississippi River has the potential to see it in their state if it isn't there already. There are strains that only make birds mildly ill, and there are HPAI strains which kill rapidly, and seemingly mostly commercial turkey farms this year. It started in British Columbia, Canada in North America, then spread into the US. It is carried by wild ducks and geese, so it can wind up literally anywhere.

There are lots of good sources of information online. Look for .gov or .edu pages for the most up-to-date and correct information on what you can do to protect your flock. It's serious. I'm in Indiana, and there's only one state between us and two states with current outbreaks (Minnesota and Missouri).

I looked at the list of outbreaks. Looks like the closest case to me is Arkansas...
