What variety type of the breed English Orpington is your favorite, barring costs.

I'm working on them in bantams now, type is there, but color needs work still.



I had to use bantam Chocolates to get the type I wanted in my Blues, most of the BBS I found when sourcing stock were entirely too "American-looking" for my taste, so I've been working with Chocolate/Mauves to eventually get back to Blues with correct type. This is the Mauve cockerel I'm holding on to from spring hatches.

 
Ooooo I like this thread I just scored on a Chocolate English Orpington and a Blue English Orpington unsexed though I hope both pullets but if I have too I will build a pallet coop just for my orps i also have two hatchery buffs

Blue is 4.5 weeks and Cocoa is 3.5 weeks
to early to tell but they look like roo's. The darker one definitely has a comb growing out.

Orpingtons are way slow to mature and almost impossible to sex this early. I'd say come back around 8 weeks and you should know for sure. :)
