The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I meant to ask, does anyone have any English Buffs? Hatching eggs, or possibly chicks, for early 2020? I know Buff isn't a super popular color amongst English Orps, but I figured it never hurts to ask. Thank you!

Has anyone on this thread purchased blue, black, or splash orpingtons from Cowboy Country Chickens? If so what was the quality/overall experience?

this is their website. They are one of the only places that I can find that still has bbs orpington chicks available for sale this time of year. If anyone know another website that still has them available that would also be extremely helpful!
I’ve heard many mixed reviews, some great, some not so great. I wouldn’t get chicks now though, the temps will be very low soon and poor babies aren’t going to enjoy it

I grabbed some pics of the laced orp chicks today. It was pretty cold out there this morning.

I also made some predictions. They are 4.5 weeks old. Let me know if you agree on the "predictions".

I've been pretty sure about the males all along. They were hunches but now I'm starting to see some wattles. (#2 is less obvious)

Female 1 is another I've been sure about all along. She's petite, was quick to feather, & has an angular face. She still has no real comb nor wattles.

Female 2 is pretty big boned, so I've been swinging back & forth. But she looks more female today. The comb area is very flat. This one I'm not as sure about. Could be a very slow maturing male.

I'm not quite sure who the parents are of Female 2

Male 1 came from Oreo, so pretty sure he's a full SLO

Male 2 and Female 1 came from my 2nd blue laced orp project (unrelated to Blizzard). They could be either SLO or blue SLO.
Their full sister (from an earlier hatch) is this girl:

The above girl has blue-looking butt fluff but the lacing looks black.

A friend sent me this link earlier:

I'm tempted to order the one in the first link for the White Orpington pair just to see what it looks like. I feel like it can't be that great, but it just looks awesome for that price... Although I'm not in love with the coop. For three or four birds I think it might be okay though provided you take out the tallest roost bar.

Those prices are great. Yes, if you decide to order, please post about it here right away. I would definitely buy one of those or even the smaller little prefab coops - also on their site. I can't find a used one off Craigslist for those prices!

Your idea for remodeling the outbuilding sounds great.

Does your boy have black and white feathers in his tail? His new feathers are looking good, he’s got a squirrel tail though
No, they aren't black and white, just darker and lighter shades of gray...erm...I mean Lavender.
Btw, his name is Roopecca, so named because as a young "pullet" "her" name was Repecca. Occasionally I refer to him as Mr. Pecca Roo. He's not official show quality other than sheer sexiness. :plbb

Do they have an email for me to contact them with? And I didn’t see bbs Orpingtons on their list of fall chickens. I’ll still ask though.
Uh oh my bad! I saw BBS Marans on his list. Sorry. Of course he could have plans for BBS Orpingtons or have a connection for some. He is on Facebook . Myself, I just text him. Couldn't hurt to ask him on FB.
