The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Mine are good layers. This was the first year I didn't have eggs in the fall but I have never had them go through such long molts before either. New blood improves laying.

This hen has been moved in with Champ too

I sure am hoping that groundhog was right. I am looking forward to a early Spring. I want to get busy moving things around.

I really loved this Cock bird who was hatched out of my birds. I am going to see if I can borrow him a little later in the year to breed with some of my blacks. He was a gorgeous bird at the show.

I just counted the weeks and my birds are 23 weeks this week. I have it in my head that I won't get any eggs from them until May, but it's exciting to hear there is the slimmest chance it may be earlier than that! Let us know if you keep getting eggs!

I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo antsy for my first eggs! I keep checking the nesting boxes everytime I go to their coop, hoping that maybe someone will have given me an egg. I don't think I've been this excited over any other eggs before.

As soon as I get one it's going into the 'bator. There's NO WAY I'm gonna crack it open to check for fertility! LOL.
