Bama.. you have out done yourself... lol Wonderful birds... Wonderful photos.

Brad has been helping some with the chickens the last couple of days because we had all be sick with the flu and I am behind on stuff. He came in from gathering eggs says..... Renie... Them blue girls are the Sweetest and the most beautiful chicken I have ever known. He really likes cuz they stand up so you can get the eggs and don't try to peck you hands like a couple of my buffs do.... lol

Sorry you've been sick Renie....glad to hear about how sweet your girls are though...looking forward to finding out!!

Total chicks so far is 22 and there are 5 due to hatch today and I have 3 pips.

Got a question on shipping chicks. What age do they have to be to be able to ship them after they are past a day old? 4 weeks?

YAY!

I think they go by weight on the shipping, but I'm not sure on that. I think there's a sticky about it.

Joy I just got some chicks that were 1 week and 2 weeks old. They came all the way from Nebraska and had the green gel stuff in with them. Two were doa, but I think they were very cold and should have had more in there to keep warm. But the rest are doing fine.

Thanks Carolyn. I've been looking at that GroGel stuff.

Thanks for the link Katy - I'll check it out. I think if I can't ship as day-olds, I won't ship until they are at least 4 weeks.

PLEASE have some fertile eggs this time!

THEN, we had a 5 hour power outage wit horrific winds. My 3 day old chicks survived in a huddle with a blanket over the brooder.

I am so sick of nasty weather being headline news.

Joy, Congrats on the new chicks! I hope you get tons and tons more!
