With all do respect to Marc, please follow all USDA requirements for importing any eggs from other countries. Folks like Marc have spent thousands of dollar to make these varieties available. Their prices may seem high at times, but are way cheaper than the actual cost of importing yourself. And even less than the fines for not following the USDA rules.
Marc, will you be bringing anything to Crossroads? A rumor has it someone may donate a cash award for best British type Orpington.

Hi Jim,
I will not be able to attend. Because of the drought, watering all the livestock I have here at the ranch ( horses, Texas Longhorns etc..)
and feeding them hay every day, makes it a full time job and i don't want to leave them alone in this difficult period. It's about being responsable for your animals and taking good care of them at all times. Sorry but the cash award will have to go to someone else.
Have a nice evening.
Marc
I was wrong about late Feb... found hatch date to be Feb 10th... but that is still pretty good
Now this morning after arriving back home from taking my son to day camp.. My husband said one of the English kids I got from Joy (affectionately called The Britts) was trying to crow.. I am like yeah right.. they don't even have all their feathers yet! I didn't believe him.. any who while sitting here on the comp I heard this RRRrrRRrrr sound come from the dog room not more than 20 feet away. I was dumb founded! Then I heard it again and again! Just had to look up how old these kids are... Hatched May 30th, 2011 Yes in deed I have a Britt that is crowing and doesn't even have all the feathers in his britches yet... lol
"The Britts" LOL. That's cute.
My birds have never been early crowers - Would love to hear your baby trying to crow Renie !!! Would love pictures of "The Britts" more !!!
Eglyntine - There are quite a few of us here that have pure English stock. I doubt that anybody is shipping chicks/birds right now, though, with the heat. I am sure you can find somebody here on this thread who has some English that would be willing to hatch and ship you chicks later when it cools down. I won't have anything available until next spring, if then. You might want to contact Jeremy - he might be able to help you out.
Importing is expensive, but so worth it. My birds have been such a pleasure to me - I will never regret spending the $$$ to import them.
I won't be going to Crossroads either. I don't show, plus the show is a week later than when we take our annual beach vacation.
I just got back from the midnight showing of Harry Potter - it was great and I really enjoyed it - but I was really sad, too. HP has been a part of my life for 10 years - I can't believe it is actually over. I feel like I've lost a limb.
Tonya - I'm going to go see it again in a day or so. I cried for about 3 days or so after I finished reading "The Deathly Hallows." I knew that I would cry tonight - I just didn't know that I would actually sob. While I wish they had left the original ending, I think they did a really good job with the emotion and despair that Harry felt at the end when he knew he had to die. It's hard to swallow that it is over. I really will miss Hogwarts !!
