The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I have some gorgeous blue and black orpingtons...I am just crazy over these birds!! They are soooo stunning. Does anyone know where I can acquire some quality Lavender Orpington hatching eggs or birds?

Hi WinterSky,

I have several juvenile Lavender Orpingtons, 100% English, Priscilla Middleton and Chirpy Chicks bloodlines.
Right now I'm offering a pair of juvenile birds on BidBird.
Have a nice day,

Marc

jeremy if all you did was go to the show you would enjoy it. You get to talk to some of the best Exhibition breeders of our times in many different breeds and pick their minds in conditioning tips, what they feed their birds, how they breed their birds. But Aveca has mentioned an excellent book. If you only read the Hubbard's poultry Secrets, written by Hubbard who was the care taker for PT Barnum's Orps. And that is the same PT Barnum from circus fame. And read the Reliable Poultry Journal 1911 edition on Orpingtons you would be armed with all the knowledge you need. Back then those poultry minds are what hooked todays poultry Master Breeder greats into chickens. I highly encourage you all to read them and enjoy the tips shared.

Some recent pictures, mostly of Neville, I'm using a friends computer and it is SLOOOW so I only uploaded a few for now.

Julie, what do you think? He's almost 8 months old now.

Blurry picture, but it gives you an idea of his shape.

Neville and Elizabeth, she's become one of his "favorites", her feathers are starting to get a big ruffled near the base of her tail. I plan on putting saddles on a few of them soon.

Hi fellow Orpington lovers. Has anyone heard of Richard Jordan aka Pampered_poultry. How is his reputation as a breeder, has anyone purchased from him?

Thanks
