The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

You know... you just might be. Joy and Julie would probably know for certain. But, a person couldn't do better than acquiring one of your birds. Even if there are other breeders, I can't imagine they come closer than yours to meeting the standard. They're fantastic.

Hey, Jeremy

Sent you an email. Stumbled on a web site and thought you'd be interested.

Thank you very much, I'll be sure to let the chooks know tomorrow morning that someone thinks they're as beautiful as I do.

ETA: I wanted to add, I owe the beauty of my flock entirely to Joy and Julie, without them I literally would not have these birds. Their hard work and dedication to get these birds to the States and then breed them towards the British Standard and finally sharing them with all of us should be recognized. I feel truly lucky to have been gifted with the wonderful foundation flock I have.

I wanted to share some pictures I found while browsing the UK EBAY site (nerd, I know...), these are "Mauve/Mauve Laced" Orpingtons, somewhere in the UK of course...

As I understand it this color is the result of a double dilution of Black, when a Chocolate Orp is bred with a Blue Orp.

Neat, huh? I think they're pretty.

Here's the link to the auction- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6-x-Chocolate-Mauve-Laced-Orpington-LF-Hatching-Eggs-/160640444271?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry&hash=item2566eaa76f#ht_500wt_1156.

Can
you believe they start at only £9.00?!
