I am not an EXPERT. but I do show my Orpintons regularly. You can show UK Orps and they will be judged to our APA SOP. There is many who have show a hybrid of APA American lines and UK ENGLISH line Orps and have done very well. As like most people, JUDGES at these shows are the same. they all have their own opinion on how to judge an Orp. Most who do judge at APA events do not raise Orps. The few who do are the best to gauge what you have. I like judges like Doug, or Paul Monteif who do own and show their Orps. They raise to the APA SOP. BUT, still can appreciate the traits offered by the UK Orps. The chance of the APA excepting and allowing the UK SOP birds to have their own class will not happen soon. You would do better to encourage the unaccepted varieties like Chocs, Jubilees, Lavs before you will ever see the APA have a UK Orp. I personally like the varieties the UK Orps have in their SOP. I can see that someday we MAY have a few accepted here. But it will be decades down the road.
