I have to tell you what happened yesterday. My daughter took one of the big black orps into the auction (every Friday) to see what they would say. She had grown men argue with her .... insisting that was no Orp ... "That's a Jersey Giant. Ain't no Orp that big!"

ETA: She sold him for $22.

Tubby is HUGE - and Tubs. Jr. has a handsome look - I think Orp faces are so expressive. I don't know if it's the dark eye, but they seem more "human" in their expressions.

Kathy, did he go to an Orp breeder?

Kathy I am so glad she got a good price. The largest one I have ever seen was in Fl. Black Cock Massive Size, weighed 16 lb. The hens were 14. I want to see some that big again. I have one big pullet four months old that have that kind of size. I am watching her. She is out of Big John who I sold in may
