No, not yet Beth. I think I pestered Joy enough and I didn't want to keep pestering her--especially as she is heading off to the PO now! I know she will tell me later but if she is busy and can't, well, I will be surprised tomorrow!
So how old are yours now Beth? 3-4 weeks? Are there any pics of them? I get so lost in all the different threads that I lose track.
Germaine, there are pics from last week a page or two back. They are feathering in and look absolutely scruffy. DH says sort of shakes his head and looks at me out of the corner of his eye - I keep showing him pics of what they will end up looking like, but I don't think he believes me! Yes, two of mine are 3 and 4 are 4 weeks old. Stinkers! I love them. I have already named the big blue roo Maximus and the little teeny pullet Skoche. The others get names as soon as I know for sure who is what, but I think I have at least two more roos, probably three out of the 6 chicks.
Beth they are adorable! Number 4 is a girl! I think the rest are roos, but I could be wrong. You had me laughing about the hubbys look out of the corner of his eye. Too funny. I know that look.
Yup, the concensus was #4 is a girl and the opinions were split on two of the other ones. I wish I could get a trio out of it, but may have to try another hatch later.
Yeah, that look is priceless - but I indulge his amateur theater hobbies and he indulges my chicken and horse hobbies!
Joy, This is Sir Walter all grown up or he thinks he is! It was getting dark and the flash on the camera wasn't working too well. More pics to come in a day or two.........
Here's a couple of shots of one of my blues, I'm thinking a pullet at this point. Today was the second day they have been outside out of their brooder, it's been a cold summer here in the Bay Area so they haven't had much outside time. There's some pictures of my splash over on my growth thread too.
Her feathers are really starting to come in, do they look like the beginnings of nice lacing?
She's one of my favorites, I love her color! She's more of a medium blue, I've got some chicks that are lighter and darker than her. I can't wait to see how she turns out!
It has been raining quite a bit here so it has taken me a while to take some pics. Here is some photos of pullets I hope to breed with one of Joy's boys! This is my light blue Lucretia.
Here is a shot of Violet's Lacing.
This is Willow. She is my favorite bird and I had not planned on using her for breeding. She is a lot smaller than her sisters, but now she seems to be catching up.
This will be the beginning of my breeding project. I hope my pullets are high enough quality for an English type. I think they are lovely.
