The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Cherly, very pretty chicks. I don't know about the white on the wings on that one. It may dissappear as it continues to feather in.

Cheryl they are pretty chicks. I am not an expert so I figured I'd better just wait and read what the real experts say. But I think the little girl with white is precious.

Well, my best guess at this point is #2 cockerel, #3 & 4 pullets. #1 - I have no clue. Hard to tell with virtually no feather development yet. Cheryl, you'll have to keep up updated with photos as that little one grows out....will be interesting.

Thanks everyone

That's what I thought too, but some history on the non-feathered one.

I had to help her out (shrink wrapped) and she is a day to a day & 1/2 younger...but still?

If definitely has been my experience that the girls feather out quite a bit earlier than the boys. That is why I'm so stumped with this little one. It will be interesting to watch development.

It will. I try to look at the overall--feathering, comb, wattle and I find foot size to be a factor too.

#2 has little feet, no comb or wattle. But then there is the slow feathering. Please keep us update on this chick Cheryl.

Little Skoche was tinier than her hatch mates, and slow to feather. She is still not caught up, either in size or in feathering, so maybe your baby is simply taking her time and catching up internally first?
