Got a question, If black roo. that is carrying the chocolate gene is breed to a black hen that is not carrying the gene, can they produce chocolate chicks or just black chicks ? Anybody know about this ?

You should get black boys and chocolate girls from that cross.

Oops I mis - read it...... if you cross a split male over a black female then you will get black males with %50 of them carrying the choc gene and %50 females that will show choc while the rest will be black.

Theoretically you should obtain the following :

25% pure black roosters
25% split black-chocolate roosters
25% pure black hens AND
25% pure chocolate hens.

Impossible to tell which roosters will carry the chocolate gene unless you breed them.

25% Split Black males
25% Black males
25% Black females
25% Chocolate females
