Oh! And some other exiting news!!!!! I was at the last show of winter season, and my buff Orpington got "Best Heavy Large" and they took some pictures of me and my Buff Orpington for the Orpington Club Yearbook

It's not that easy, unless your bird has been trained very well and you have them plucked like that one is. There is also the issue of size you have to deal with.


It's actually not bad. Very straightforward process once the human involved has a bit of experience and confidence. How'd you like to AI Toulouse geese, the massive exhibition sort?

It's been done very regularly in the past though I'll admit I'd not want to myself.

This will be me after I get the hang of it. I need to practice on a "disposable" bird.....

Last time my chocolate orpington aspirated and I literally (insert common joke about choking poultry here for humorous effect.)

Thanks Julie, I sure hope it's black, seems like all the splash chicks are so much bigger than all the rest when they are first hatched, but they are all very nice chicks !!!!! I love em.

Roger this is the boy I moved out of the pen with the girls. He is a bit ruff on them. He is a great big ole boy. I have a few chicks off him and they are big. Nearly all cockerels.
