The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Why I posted the photo of my lavender rooster was because I've had request from people who have purchased chicks. This thread was suppose to share beautiful eye candy. As far as the leakage if a judge says its not leakage but from the sun that's good enough for me!!!

Louise, he is a gorgeous boy and you should feel lucky to have him. I love seeing pictures of everyone's birds, yours included.

This thread was originally intended to share pictures of our beautiful Imported Orpingtons.

Anyways...

Roger, I can't think of anything that someone could possibly say negatively about your birds. They are beautiful.

When I BUY a bird from somebody, I don't consider it "working hard" on them. I didn't do anything to create that bird, therefore I can take no credit. If there is a fault- should I blame the breeder? Not completely - not every chick that hatches is going to be SQ, and if you can't accept that you need a new hobby.

When lavender ameraucana breeders have issues we talk about them, and figure out how to make things better.

Thank you Jeremy, after all he did come from Oklahoma! I was always taught if you have nothing nice to say maybe you shouldn't say anything at all!

Louise,

Don't worry too much about the negative remarks of some breeders. I noticed that a lot of lavender roosters show that so called "leakage".When you go to websites of serious breeders in Europe, you can see the same phenomenon. In my humble opinion it is due to the sun.
The color of my chocolates, buffs, whites and lavenders are not so intense anymore since they are outside all of the time and here in Oklahoma we have a lot of sunshine.

Marc
