It is not that hard. I would be happy to assist you in importation. I have several breeders in the UK that will work with exporting. It is on the expensive side. Without getting too deep into the red tape and detail here... this is the breakdown - $ 4000 for a trio and approx $ 100 per egg. The approx on the egg is based on a 50% hatch rate. If you are interested - I will walk you through the process - no charge for that.

Yes there are LF Chocs from the 5th gen UK line here in the US........... yes they are in Georgia. .

You know very well that the choclate bantams you and her are using, come directly from me and not the other way around!
As far as I know you are or have been using black LF from Julie Bachelor for the cross to getting to LF Chocolate.
By the way, I'm 60 years old and have been breeding chickens since I was 10. So that gives me some experience, wouldn't you say so?
Again, think twice before you air any kind of statement attacking people that you really don't know much about.

As far as how long folks have raised Orpingtons... I acquired my first exhibition quality Buff Orpingtons in 1977.
Acquired my first Buff Orpington Bantams in 1982.

That is over 35 years of having exhibition Orpingtons.

As far as imported Orpingtons. Julie and Joy were the first I have heard of. Then Marc. Others then started importing.

I'm so grateful for everyone's help and insight.

I guess my goal is to obtain the highest quality, most European stock. If I'm going to do this, I want to do it as right as I can without taking out a second mortgage. Not for the money, but to improve the breed and enjoy the purest birds. Hope that doesn't sound snooty.

Don C told me of a fella on the east coast who imported Buff Orp eggs about 20 to 25 years ago. Don said this guy had sold a few of his culls. One particular cull Don told me he seen was near 16 lbs Buff cockerel that was snatched up by a well known upper Midwest Buff Orp breeder. This breeder is good friends with the man who I get many of my Buff Orp culls from. So, importing Orps has been around for quite sometime.
PLUS, Cecil Moore had sent some of his Whites back over to Europe. It goes both ways between the US and the Europeans.
The breeding for traits is what separates our APA Orp breeders from the UK Orp breeders.
Here is one of my Black cockerels growing out who could pass for a UK bird. He has none of the Black or Blue import Orp lines mentioned on this pages. IF anything he MAY have some of that UK Buff cock sold to my fellow Buff Orp breeder in him.
Since I breed for APA for Show, I will most likely cull this fella out of my Black breeding program. But, he is what he is. And he prolly carries the Dun Brown color gene. Which will keep him, for now, with head intact.
Someday all you LF Choc enthusiasts will be heading out to Show them here at our APA shows as Chocs. I hope to show my Duns in the same shows. IT will be up to the judges to tell the difference. And that will be ALOT of fun to see what they think.
