The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

Don,
How many APA points would the Hobbs get for winning at a show with 3000+ other birds?
It was Fred and Judy Farthings bird. I would say there was maybe 700 birds in the junior show and 2300 in the open. I need to email the guy and get the number for the show report. I will ask Vern about the points. I don't think it's a big amount, You just get pts for the show champion. They don't get BB or Champion English or champion Large. I know it's the biggest number. I have never had to worry about a deal like that. It was a great win for the orpington breed.

Don,
Thanks for the information I corrected my post to read the correct winners ( Fred andJudy Farthings } at that show. Don't want to take away the respect they were entitled for doing such a fantastic accomplishment. That was definately an accomplishment to be proud of for all their efforts that it entailed.

Thanks everyone
Don that pair of bantam Orps Charles shown that were getting lots of attention came from Vern. I would love to see some of these other bantams Sandy and Vern have.
I believe Joy told me Darlene drove down and bought chicks from her at some point. That lady El told me the black girl was out of the blue hen she showed. Had a black Cock over a blue I think she said. Nice birds.

They have nice ones for sure. His white bantams are so nice. Wonder if Darlene is cutting down. I know she still has her bantam buff brahams.

Vivi ... those blues are looking good :) Okie is a big boy :) You can sure tell he has some really good breeding behind him :) The Maran has a real pretty head to me for what I know about them... and the Lemons are coming on since the last time I saw them ")

This is a photo of a TEN WEEK old trio I shipped off this week. The pullet on the right is out of a SOP hen by Monty, my imported EBO K. Please compare her to my avatar.I think she will be a force to be reconed with next year, after she finishes getting her main tail, since her comb is an improvement on her mother's. Thank you Monty ! She will be shown.
Real nice, I think hatching early to get good size before hot weather is a plus. Hope to get to see her, she probably don't live in my neck of the woods.

Thanks Harry, your a great friend and encourager

One last pic of my blue hen that won BB in first judging
