The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

UKorps. that roo has a real nice chest on him. A common problem that I see in the ones we have here in the US is heavy chests tiny waist.. It just throws the whole look off for me.:( What are your expectations of the Jub x Lav chicks??

Phew! Taken me ages to read through this thread! I will have to get some decent pictures of all my Orps when the snow goes and post them. What superb specimens you all have!

One to start me off... taken from my phone so the colouration doesn't look as it should!

It was getting dark so he appears darker than he is. My beautiful Jubilee Orpington cockerel that I'm going to put over my Lavender girls.

Pretty cockerel

Got to agree. Tiny waist does throw it all off. Though I'd rather have the heavy chest tiny waist than tiny chested anything.

Thanks all! Well I'm rather hoping to have a Porcelain outcome, although one never knows what you'll end up with! I'm glad you like my cockerel, I had a rather lucky bargain there with him and his wife. I saw them advertised as 'two young speckled orpingtons' - I googled and couldn't come up with any images as I hadn't heard of these before. I rang the seller up and she said she'd just put that as she couldn't remember the name of them - thank goodness she couldn't as I got both of them for the princely sum of £30 (about $50!!!!) Happy happy me!

Tell me UKorps, What do you think of this splash rooster here as far as the Uk standard goes, (type) he is about 7-8 months old in this picture ?
