This is a cockerel I once had that was unmistakably Splash. But the older he got, the darker his hackle and saddle got, and people kept thinking he was a blue.

When I see Rebelyell's boy, I don't doubt he's a splash though it does confuse me why some seem to get looking more "blue" as they age.

Oh ... he sure was pretty.... looks like a painting.

Thank you! He turned out to have no chest and a horrible personality. His one redeeming quality ended up being that he was delicious. All legs and no breast at all. And testicles bigger than lima beans. Was really over the top rough on my girls. I've had roosters, and then I've had roosters. This one was a jerk. And as I say, no chest. Even at 22 weeks, no chest. Just huge legs.

I love the old tin too. I cannot get enough of old farm metal.

We have to stick to the smaller polka dot breeds.There are enough big butts around here!

Those are just blacks. Yes- doing better now that the rain stopped. I am going crazy taking pics now to make up for lost time.

Some of my favorite flowers are the peony and the hydrangea...had alot of both in Oklahoma where I was raised and then in Northern Calif.
but now can't have either since that i reside in Scottsdale, AZ...
got alot of purdy cacti though..lol ((-;
saw a previous post with your high crusted pies and some hydrangeas in the background...delightful!!
