I love to watch hen hatched babies. Hope your hen hatches you a bunch. I have had broodies in Freezing cold weather in jan before. Not this year though. I just need some blacks to lay a few eggs. My blues are laying again. I am going to put a Cock in with them by the end of the month.Black English
You want them broody, they do nothing, you want them laying, broody.A momma with 5 babies beats a brooder with 20 babies in it every time! I so love watching momma look after them and raise them up. I'm keeping every broody ever I swear! And I'm sure every one will go broody at the wrong time for ever after![]()
Quote: It is my leg horn that is hatching out black English for me..I only gave her 4 eggs from the black, but she stole more eggs from the coop. I see yellow and black under her..
Hello guys and gals,
I finally have my first batch of English Orps. from Jordan Farm. 6 lemon cuckoos, and 3 chocolate bantams. I'm Soooo excited!!! I'll post some pics if I can get them to hold still long enough. I do have a question for you folks. I've been told that will need their butt fluff trimmed for fertility. Is that true?![]()
Temps here were in the teens today. Needless to say everybody is in the coop huddled beneath the heater.
Evening Everyone - I do not normally cruse this thread but and really wanting to start raising Orpingtons. I really like the looks of the Black. Does anyone have or know anyone who has 100% Black Orp. Bantams for sale? I have seen some ads for some that "split to chocolate?" But I want totally black genes.
Thanks
