The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

My azaleas are blooming in Feb. It was a beuatiful day today. Mid seventies. We have bluebirds trying to nest and robins everywhere.
I am getting spoiled with this good weather. It think we have run the AC as much as we have used heat this Winter. Just hoping our summer isnt to hot. I know the folks in OK had some of the worst heat this past year along with drought.
Is anyone else's gas prices going up again?

Oh and BTW I saw pics of F2 choc silkies being made from bantam Orps. I knew I would love chocolate in silkie feathering. They will be amazing in a few years

Yes going up here.

Well, I ran the AC last night and today. We had a "cold front" that PLUNGED temps into the ... 60's? Already getting ready to plant tomatoes. Not the seeds, the plants. And 10 years ago I'd have laughed myself silly at the idea of doing that in Feb. - but mid March is just too late to do that here now.

I have the silliest grin on my face anyone ever saw after all those pictures! Great chicks and wonderful birds!

Now I have a really crazy pic to share. My cockerel (hatched around Oct 3rd) decided he's just ready for some hen action. So he got put in with the old girls tonight in their coop for manners. Well, he was scared and looked for a hot babe to snuggle with like he's used to. Found a California Grey that is broody. Somehow I don't think she's as thrilled with the whole thing as he is:

Galanie, you know "snuggling" is a code word for...
