The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I have 8 eggs from my Black EO's in the bator today is the 21st day and we have one little tiny pip in 1 egg...I don't really expect them to start hatching until tomorrow since they are bigger than your average chicken and I have read that Orps take longer to hatch for that reason...But I might be surprised

This is our first time hatching English Orp (full size) eggs... Our Gold Laced are a day AHEAD of schedule. Day 21 is tomorrow and 2 are fully hatched with 3 pips. We were a bit surprised too! We have BBS EO's in the bator so it's good to know they are slow hatchers.

THREE MORE EGGS HAVE PIPS! :celebrate
:D:D:D:D

Im gonna be hatching BBS EO eggs for the first time too this weekend! Thanks for that info.
I still have no idea exactly how many chicks she has under there. She must have ate all the shells. I have never experienced a chicken who stayed in a nest so long. Usually by day three they have them outside or at least running around the pen. I have got to get out soon if she does not get out on her own.
Well hopefully she lets them out soon. We wanna see those fluffy butts!!!

My big babies are 9 months old today! Rock Star as usual is workin' the camera. He loves to be photographed. He's still lacing out- even his underfluff. He's such a sweetie. His babies are easy to pick out. LOL. The third point is still flopped

His flights need to be darker too. Maybe his first molt will show improvement.

(Sorry about the watermark. Some crazy people have been claiming my boy as their own. Silly people.)

Look at that comb picking up! Go Rock Star!! By the way, in light of the outright scams that have been going on with chickens online lately, we should probably all be watermarking our stuff.
