Congratulations Irene!!! Chocolate chicks are always fun to take pictures of. They are very photogenic. ESPECIALLY in the sun!
And thank you for that incubator tip.

I am going to apply that method this hatch. Ive got a couple of different BBS lines incubating and i want to keep them seperate to band them.

I got a toe punch.... let me tell you .. they work if you can do the chicks as you take them from the bator and put them in the brooder... yep.. I have no trouble telling who is who... now when they get bigger.... I will band them as well. But they grow soo dang fast... so this way I won't worry about anything getting too tight

When you punch the toes do they bleed? Is it a lot?

you punch the webbing between the toes.. they bleed very little.

They look great Maria..happy babies..they are the sunshine girls..right now, mine are snow bunnies..I had to throw a little food out to lure them outside this morning, but it warmed up this afternoon and they were out for hours.inbetween baby feathers and big girl feathers..they are WIDE.
