. It was posted at the beginning of this thread by Bama and is what lead my to pursue English birds. In my opinion, THIS is what is so good about English Orps. Now if I could ever be so lucky to get one of my blues this round...I would be one happy lady..

I love the chocolates I have Marc Sacre choc bantam and have a ? My young roo about 3 months old has an odd comb I will load a photo of itHey guys. Its been very busy and so hot here. I wanted to add a few pics and see what u guys think. Here is an update on my LF chocolate project. This guys father was a black split roo who was an 8th bantam and mother was a quarter bantam chocolate. Everyone meet the Count. To make it easy lets just say he is a lil more then 75% LF but 100% English blood. He is 8 months old now and just becoming sexually mature. He will b bred over pure english black LF hens for the next generation. At least this one will be sex linked LOL. I have worked very long and hard at breeding these up to LF and plan to stick with my project adding in new blood as I go rather then buy LF chocolates. I like knowing the background. This year the hens I am using r no relation to this roo. This is one of many projects I am doing with the imported orps and will update info on others as I have time. Everyone please meet The Count. He was the only one to make the cull.![]()

It is a side sprig, which is a disqualification. What a shame.
i had the same type of thing going on last yearyeah I will be doing that next year ...since this is my first year raising Orps I only had 2 hens and a rooster to hatch out of so I had to buy chicks...but next year if every thing goes as planned I will have so many chicks I wont know what to do with them all![]()
