The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

This is great information.

I get so frusturated that I want to knock them in the head.

Still laughing at the image of a14 year old boy in a room filled with naked tied up women. That perfectly describes some a few of my young roosters. When they really start to misbehave I put them in with the older girls and they start acting better really fast. My girls will gang up on them. :)

On the other hand, I have also been so impressed with how kind and caring my English Orpington roosters are with chicks. I had a couple of hens that decided they were tired of raising their chicks. It was the sweetest thing to see the chicks piled on the roost beside and on top of my Chocolate rooster at night.

Too sweet...........I already posted that my old rooster allowed Serama roosters to live with his flock. Wish I had taken pictures................Big old English Orp and 1 pound Seramas.........
And he would let them tuck in his fluff when it got cold...................
Oh..am I ever going to quit missing him....................

Chickydee64: This is my farm sheriff. He keeps all the young roos in line and is usually snuggled up against his best buddy who hadn't quite made it up to the top tier of the roosting post (you can just see his comb under the serama - he was trying to figure out how to squeeze himself back into his spot. Thought I'd share the pic since I know exactly what your talking about...

omg.................The Roo I have been complaining about must have read my mind and decided he needed to do something quick
to win me over....Went to check on my broody and there he was............setting those eggs while she is doing her break.
Getting a picture now.................................

Caught a few my English Choc. Orpington Bantams that I hatched from eggs I got from Don on top of the chicken house lol These and 3 others are available. They were up there crowing... Inquiries welcome.
