The IMPORTED ENGLISH Orpington Thread

I just heard from Lynne, AVECA, that her Monty son from me just won CH. English at 10 1/2 months old at his first show. Lynne has done a beautiful job of raising and conditioning him. Here's a photo from The Twin Tiers show in NY. taken today. I couldn't be more pleased. Lynne has 2 pullets from me who will be out shortly.
Well deserved! Sometimes the breeder doesn't have to go to the shows themselves for their birds to win. Didn't the only other birds you raised this year that were shown win as well? Lynne: GREAT JOB GIRL!

Aveca & Dragonlady: Congratulations! He is a truly stunning beauty!

Now I ask if anyone has an idea since I'm clueless with cuckoos and this is the only one I've got; p or k?

I thought P for the longest time, but just this week, it's tail sorta popped up and wattles started growing...

Thank you ! Welcome to my world. I think you do have a cockerel there. I was blessed with a bunch this fall.

I know how that goes! I just gave away 10 this week! It's almost too quiet around here now. I am kind of excited if HE does end up being a cockerel, I might play around with the chocolates or khaki I have...

More pics:

This is a 10 mo old cockerel that I love the type and temperament on (not thrilled with the comb, but trying to work with what I have - He's huge and comes from an excellent line of blues). He is an imported line (thanks Julie). I put him over my biggest splash part american hen (who is huge, but has a tiny comb) and this is the result:

the k in the center is the one I posted pics of a few weeks ago that had barring on his wing tips when they came in. Not terribly noticeable, but if you know what you're looking for, it's still there.

I also hatched a couple with him over a blue hen I got from Roger:

She is so strikingly laced in comparison to ones I've hatched before!

One more pic, and my show and tell will be done for the night:

So far (almost 3 mo), she is white with faint lacing on the hackles and head, slate legs, but no color on the beak or comb. White splash? As a descriptive term only, of course. She is out of a nice splash rooster from Roger and either a blue hen of his or my splash hen (I'll have to double check my book). She is also camera shy.
